Preeti & Amilcar | A Hindu and Jewish Crossover Wedding
It is not every-day that you get to shoot a wedding of this nature. And I mean this in multiple ways.
Firstly, it is the first wedding I have ever shot where there was not one but two ceremonies. One Hindu ceremony and one Jewish one, as the bride is Hindu and the groom is Jewish. Wow.
Secondly, the wonderful complimentary natures of the two ceremonies really made for a magical day, and showed me a lot in terms of how accepting and loving everyone was of their union and their love. The arrangements and decor required for the Jewish Ceremony fit perfectly within the Hindu one. Like wow !
It was an absolute treat to see the fathers shaking hands with blessings for each other and respect of each others beliefs. The love these two shared was really nothing short of really magical.
Thirdly, the Capoeira Groom. The images will speak for themselves.
Thank you Preeti and Amilcar for such a wonderful day and allowing us to share in it with you.
P.S, Thank you to the wonderful family of the couple too – for the many laughs for the new and improved “HindJew Couple” and ensuring we did not go a second without feeling welcome and well-fed. Ahahah !
The family was super awesome during this section where Amilcar had to perform all the various ceremonies. There was a lot of laughter. As tradition, as the groom enters the hall where the ceremonies take place, a small ritual takes place. ( I am slowly learning all the rituals, 3 weddings down and I think Im getting the hang of it ! 🙂 )
With the conclusion of the Hindu Ceremony, the Jewish one begins !
Now tell me honestly, How many weddings are there where there is a Capoeira demonstration, by the groom and best men, in full wedding attire ? How epic !
